Cabin

(Jim Bradford)
JB

I was thinking about a couple kids near my town that killed their parents. Not really what this is about, though. Really, it is a little story of a dude that kills to get revenge and money. Then he finds out that the ghosts, or his conscience bother him to the point of ruining his life. I suppose our little friend had it coming.

Cabin – Jim Bradford

Days of plenty

Days of cheer

Days of wild abandon

Were taken in a moment's time

In a fire

In a cabin

The plot was hatched

In each small detail

to highjack untold riches

And at the same time

Rid the world

Of a bastard

And his snitches

          The ghosts have finally found

Some way to get to me

I ran and ran for all those years

I look, they are right behind me

Lock the door

Light the fuse

Lady luck

We were tastin'

We saw the smoke

And heard the cries

But no tears were we wasting

Now that your mom and dad are gone

Burned, buried, forgotten

There is no one left to testify

About the misbegotten

          Their ghosts have finally found

Some way to tear at me

Tough I ran for all those years

I look, They are right behind me

Nightly fits of paranoid

Are soal havoc reeking

Guess I should dug that extra grave

When revenge I was seeking

So now I haunt

These dreary malls

Like long before the fall

And I drink of this poison cup

In hopes to end it all

          I guess they finally found

Some way to get to me

I ran and ran for all those years

I look, they are right behind me
